The Union 2648 mortise latches are suitable for hinged wooden doors on left or right lever operation and require. The latch is made of nylon for a quieter closing action. Please note these are not suitable for use with non-hanging lever handles. Closures with a case size of 64.5 mm (2.5 inchs) are suitable for handles with backsets of 44.5/45 mm. Closures with a size of 76 mm case (3 inches) are suitable for handles with a 57 mm backset.
